How Do I Install the Eufy Doorbell?

Installing the Eufy doorbell is easy. The installation process and method largely depend on the type of Eufy doorbell you use. There are the wired Eufy doorbell and other Eufy doorbells, such as the offline and battery-powered models. We will discuss the installation process below.

Method 1: How to Install the Eufy Video Doorbell 2k (wired)

Installing the Eufy video doorbell is easy. Simply follow the steps listed below.

Step 1: Download the App, Log In and Scan the QR Code

This is the first thing you must do to install the wired Eufy doorbell in your home. You must first download the app from your google play or IOS store. Once you have downloaded the app, log in using your necessary details. If you still need to register, you can sign up once you have downloaded the app.

Once you have successfully signed up and logged in, scan the QR code at the back of the documentation folder. If you can’t find your documentation folder, you can scan the QR code at the back of the doorbell unit.

Step 2: Check the Installation Environment

The next thing you must do once you have successfully scanned the QR code is to check the installation environment. You must take your time to check if the existing or old doorbell wires are functioning correctly.

You can call an expert or electrician if you are newly installing the Eufy doorbell. You must know that the recommended height for the installation is 1.2 meters in height.

Step 3: Perform the Wiring of the Doorbell

You need to switch off the doorbell circuit once you are done checking the places where you intend to install the doorbell. You must do this for safety. If you need to figure out which is the doorbell circuit, you can simply turn off the power in your house.

Once you have done this, find the door chime in your house and take off its cover or casing. Look for the terminals with the wired connection or the ones with the FRONT and TRANS markings. Use a jumper to connect both terminals.

Step 4: Mount or Install the Doorbell

Mounting the doorbell is easy. All you need to do is remove the previous doorbell from the door and use a positioning card to determine where you intend to screw the doorbell. Once you have done this, screw holes into the wall, and fix the back of the doorbell by screwing a nail through the holes of the case to the holes on the wall.

Connect the wires to the terminals at the back of the doorbell and hang your Eufy doorbell from the top bracket. Press the doorbell button till you hear a click. Add your power pin and turn it clockwise. Plug the chime into the power socket.

Step 5: Set Up the Doorbell

Once you have done the above steps, the last thing to do is to set up the doorbell to ensure it is working perfectly. Switch on your house’s power and follow the app’s instructions once the doorbell ring shows a yellow light. If it is showing a red light, you have to change your transformer as electricity is not being sent well enough to the doorbell.

Connect your doorbell to the wifi, add a chime and allow it to install or update. The update should take about 3 minutes. Once the update is successful, Your doorbell should be fully synchronized and work perfectly.

Method 2: How to Install Eufy Doorbell (Battery Powered)

Although installing the Eufy battery-powered doorbell differs from installing the wired doorbell, you must know that installing this doorbell is just as simple. Here are the steps for installing the battery-powered doorbell below.

Step 1: Connect the Homebase to your Home Router

You must take time to connect the Homebase of the doorbell to your router. Doing this is simple. Simply power on the Homebase by plugging it into a socket. Once it is plugged in, turn it on and connect it to your router using an ethernet cable.

The led light should turn blue after one or two minutes. If it turns blue, it means your Homebase is on and properly connected to your router.

Step 2: Download the App

This is the next thing you must do once you successfully connect the Homebase to your router. You must download the app on your android or ios phone. Once you have done this, log in or sign up on the app. Add the Homebase and the doorbell on the app once you have successfully logged in.

Step 3: Choose a Location for your Doorbell and Mount

Once you have added the Homebase and doorbell to the app, you can choose the perfect location to hang the doorbell. Since your doorbell is battery-powered, you do not have to look for a wired connection or an existing doorbell to hang your new Eufy doorbell.

Choose a good location to hang your doorbell, and remember to avoid things such as the doorbell being too low in height or the sidewall blocking the camera view of your doorbell. Screw the bracket to the wall or door and connect your doorbell.

Detaching the doorbell is easy. Simply pull the detach pin and lift the doorbell from the bottom to take off. You can recharge the doorbell using a USB charging port from the Homebase or a regular charger. The batteries should take around 3 to 6 hours to full, depending on the charging method.
